CHAIRS FOR CHAIR-ITY
ART AND DESIGN GALA AT THE THEATRE
More than thirty of our most respected design leaders in the valley created works of art out of recycled chairs to support the nexStage Theatre last December 2009. These artists, designers and architects were joined by students from Wood River High School, the Performing Arts Academy and The Community School in a creative frenzy that produced more than forty original art pieces for the event. The fabulous array of art chairs went on display and up for silent auction at the nexStage’s “Chair-ity” Gala unveiling on December 9th at the theatre, 120 South Main Street in Ketchum.
Showcasing inspired chair creations in an art gallery setting in the auditorium, the gala drew many supporters to benefit nexStage’s annual fund. In addition to the chairs painted for “Chair-ity”, local Ketchum design store “The Open Room” one of the principal event sponsors, generously donated a gorgeous modern classic leather and stainless steel armchair for a drawing on the night of the Gala.
