About the nexStage Theatre:

The nexStage Theatre, Sun Valley and Ketchum’s non-profit community theater, situated at 120 South Main Street in downtown Ketchum, is lit up with education programs, cabaret, cutting-edge theater, films and community events all year long. Well over 30,000 people attended functions at the nexStage in this past year. Since its beginnings in 1992, the nexStage Theatre has grown by offering diverse programs that reach a large cross-section of the residents of Blaine County: dramatic arts classes, the Sun Valley Shakespeare Festival, a Producing Partners program providing financial aid for local theater companies and underwriting community non-profit events and presentations. These programs, in addition to the regular schedule of plays and readings at the nexStage, all address the organization’s overarching mission to provide a flexible venue for hosting, supporting and producing the performing arts in addition to educational, multicultural, philanthropic and community events. For more information, contact the nexStage at: 208-726-9124.

Business Donations

If you're looking for a non-profit organization to support with a tax-deductible business donation, here are some things we'd like you to know about the nexStage Theatre:

With an annual budget of $300,000, we employ a staff of five, and hire over 20 contracted artists every season. With approximately 30,000 people coming to the theatre each year, we are a major player in the local economy. We're proud of our achievements, but with your help we can do more, and do it better!

Expenses typical of each production include rental of rehearsal space, crew honorariums, costume building and scenery expenses, dry cleaning, advertising, graphic design and printing of posters and programs, specialist fees (fight director, dialect coach), and royalties, which can vary wildly from $0 for Shakespeare’s plays like “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, to $600 for “The Goat” and as much as for $5000 for a big musical production.

Live theatre is an expensive endeavor, but we feel that it enriches all of us in our community far beyond the dollars spent making it happen. We hope you feel the same way. If you would like to help us reach our fullest potential, raise your company's profile, and enrich your community all at the same time, please take a moment now to make a tax-deductible contribution to The nexStage Theatre.

Your partnership with the nexStage is a two-way street. We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss the various benefits on offer in return for your financial support. If you are interested, please call Kathy Wygle, our theatre manager on 208 726-9124 or email her: kathy@nexstagetheatre.org She will always be delighted to hear from you.

When you support us, see what nexStage gives back!

The nexStage Theatre is a theater and much, much more: As well as putting on plays and teaching the performing arts, it provides a vital, creative hub for our community.

The nexStage has come a long way in the past few years: We have bought the theatre building, expanded our low-cost performing arts education programming adding great new drama classes for the whole family and financially supported many important non-profit community events. Meantime, nexStage continues to offer the best of community theatre, including ballet, musicals and our own season of plays.

With over 30,000 people coming to the nexStage last year, we can all be proud of nexStage’s achievements. With an annual budget of over $300,000, the nexStage employs a fulltime staff of three, and hires over 25 contracted artists every season. Live theatre is an expensive endeavor, but we all know that it enriches our community far beyond the dollars spent making it happen. Non-profit arts organizations like ours are often the first to feel the effects of cutbacks in today’s financial climate, but with your help, we can keep the theatre lights alight and the stage alive with performances for all your friends and family!
